Ranch History

Founded by namesakes Struthers Burt and Horace Carncross in 1912, the Bar BC Ranch was Jackson Hole’s first and among its most popular dude ranches. Vacationers from across the country and world traveled to Bar BC to experience the cowboy way of life, complete with open fire cookouts and cattle roundups.

The family of former U.S. Senator and Wyoming Governor Cliff Hansen owned the ranch until 2004 when it was purchased by Hillwood and its chairman and founder Ross Perot, Jr. The Meadow portion of the ranch continues to be home to active cattle grazing and haying operations today
